iPlay America held a job fair at its Schanck Road facility on Friday and Saturday. The event drew over 400 applicants for the 250 positions the company is looking to fill, according to Marcy Edwards, director of marketing and public relations for iPlay America.
The indoor activity center will feature amusement park-style rides, two-story laser tag, a go-kart course, bumper cars, and over 200 arcade games.
iPlay America General Manager Gary Foley said the job fair drew high school students, college students and adults looking for employment.
“We were really happy with the turnout,” Foley said.
Madeline Goldstein, 16, of Manalapan, came to the facility on Friday in search of her first job.
“I learned [iPlay was hiring] from the Monmouth County Fair from friends. It sounds like a good way to get into a job,” Goldstein said. “A lot of kids our age will be here.”
The facility and its sister company Encore Banquet & Event Center are looking to fill positions in all levels from managerial to office workers to food service staff, according to Edwards.
The facility is scheduled to open with a soft launch in late October and a full launch in early November.
Open jobs at the indoor activity center include party coordinator, concierge, shift manager, attractions associate, custodial staff, event server and reservation specialist, among others.
iPlay America will host a second job fair on Friday, Aug. 26 and Saturday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Edwards said the company will begin interviewing applicants in September.
