For immediate release, Monday, July 7, 2014Freehold, NJ – Catch A Rising Star – the legendary New York Comedy club – and iPlay America have partnered to bring a comedy series to Freehold on Friday nights beginning Aug. 1.
“Partnering with Catch a Rising Star is a natural fit for iPlay America,” said Jessica Schwartz, director of marketing. “We are the hub for one-of-a-kind family entertainment for all ages with our arcade and theme park, live music in City Square outside Game Time Bar and Grill, concerts and now Catch a Rising Star in iPlay America’s Event Center.”
CEO Suzy Yengo, chief executive officer of Catch a Rising Star, promises the line up of comics scheduled to appear at iPlay America will be stellar. Catch a Rising Star has launched the careers of Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Dane Cook and others.
“This is an excellent venue right in the heart of New Jersey – a community that appreciates live acts and sharp humor,” Yengo said. The August schedule follows. Shows start at 8 p.m. in iPlay America’s Event Center. Parking is free.
Mike Marino Friday, Aug. 1 – New Jersey’s native-born “Bad Boy of Comedy” serves up side-splitting humor with his cutting-edge observations of everyday life. Growing up Italian in Jersey City, New Jersey, and later dealing with the riff-raff of Los Angeles, Mike’s audiences are loyal and relate to all of his tales. He appears regularly at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and on cruise ships around the world. Come out and hear what’s being served for dinner this week. Jeff “The Fat Rat” Pirrami will perform with Mike – two all-time Catch a Rising Star favorites!
Bobby Collins Friday, Aug. 15 – Bobby Collins is always the funniest guy in the room. With more than 200 stand-up performances around the country each year, he is a show-business institution who has made millions laugh. A native of New York, he was literally born into comedy when his father named him for his favorite comedian, Bob Hope. Over the years, he has hosted VH-1?s “Stand Up Spotlight;” toured with Cher, Julio Iglesias, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, among others; and released six comedy CDs – “On the Inside,” “Out of Bounds,” “You’re Not Coming With Us,” “Mr. New York,” “I Wanna Go Home” and, most recently, “I’m on the Boat.” His latest DVD, “Telling It Like It Is,” is available on BobbyCollins.com and will be in stores and on Amazon and iTunes in February 2015.
